My work begins with people, their stories, their inner world, and the quiet things that often go unspoken.

Painting, for me, is a way of making that visible, translating something felt into something you can see and want to live with.

ARTISTIC APPROACH

I work within the space between abstraction and realism, using layered techniques of ink, acrylic, and oil to build depth over time. Each piece unfolds, much like the stories it carries.

Much of my work is shaped by my South African roots and my faith. I’m drawn to themes of grace, resilience, and the kind of beauty that can emerge from difficulty.

Over time, this way of working has naturally led into commissions.

Many of the pieces I create are rooted in personal stories, sometimes expressed through portraiture, sometimes through symbolism, and sometimes through something more intuitively abstract that can’t easily be put into words.

Each painting becomes a reflection not only of a person, but of a moment, a transition, an atmosphere, or a sense of becoming.

RHYTHM OF HOPE

One of my ongoing bodies of work, Rhythm of Hope, explores connection, movement, and transformation. It reflects my interest in how stories extend beyond the canvas and into the lives they touch.

I am interested in the human condition and the transformative potential of art. Rhythm of Hope series, underscores my commitment to art as a means of fostering connection and transformation. Through this series, I integrate creative practice with social engagement, using my work to contribute to community-based initiatives in underprivileged contexts.

EDUCATION + BACKGROUND

I hold a BA Honours degree in Visual Communication (Cum Laude & Top Achiever) from The Open Window in Pretoria, and continue to develop my practice through ongoing study in portraiture and painting techniques.

Earlier in my career, I worked as a lecturer and head of department in Communication Design, which continues to inform the way I approach visual storytelling.

While exhibitions and training have shaped my journey, what matters most to me is creating work that feels personal and lasting, something that continues to speak to you over time.
